Soldiering

Eric and I went out on New Year's Day to play in the Treehouse, skiing canyon-to-canyon. Heidi Beth informs me that declaring things a "Hoot" is one of my obnoxious habits. (My only one.) This expedition was not, then, a "Hoot". What the hell is a "Hoot"? From owls? The only other noise I can think that an owl must make is a retching sound as they hack up hairbone "pellets". Yum. So what then, our snow-day was a pellet retch? Sure it was.

Saturday I skied with Paul, Dave, Scott, Gordon, Pete, Sheldon, Jane, and Tim. We climbed up on the nose of the west side of White Pine - west of Scotty's bowl. We skied in Scotties, upper Scotties (Columbine?), and the west wall of White Pine. Great. Retch.

Sunday the avy danger was rated pretty high, but Paul and I decided against the more conservative Little Water option and hiked into Red Pine with Bart. We were flying a little blind since Paul and I had only been there once before each, the high winds and new snow had erased much of the skintrack, and stormy weather compromised visibility. And it was butt-cold. Regardless, we had super super awesome skiing - steep trees, North-East facing. Retch Retch.

Seymour,
I thought that soldering was molten lead.

If you have to get the lead out, could you please go to the bathroom before you leave home.

No wonder the owls are retching. They are picking up the lead pellets you shake out of your pants along the way.

Also, your grandfather called. He said,"WISE owls fly south when 'avy danger' is high. Those smart birds hoot at one another until each member of the herd (?) has resigned himself to the cold hard fact that the snow hare is indeed elusive and that they are wasting valuable time not to mention Selma is moulting from trying to get that snapshot. Finally, they give up and go someplace warm. One hard up suggested they fly to Albuquerque in search of Aunt Noreen, but the others didn't give a retch. They figure that even Selma in her moult has got to be better than Noreen. Who knows? As I remember it, Noreen had some powerful Hooters, but they've probably gone south too.

love,
Your mutha

P.S. "Avy" is Jewish for something. I can't remember what, but I do so want you to be P.C. so think think this...hey wait...I know what it's Jewish for...it means "Oy Vey, Hilda! You sed it vas

Let me tell you dis:
